I’m usually not a person who likes television, but after spending an entire day watching, “Ancient Aliens,” I can honestly say I am the ultimate sci-fi nerd. Maybe that’s why I enjoy paranormal and fantasy romance so much? I love the human mind and programs or books that encourage the imagination. Any fantastical creature interests me, although some more than others. Vampires, dragons and werewolves are a few of my favorites. My husband accuses me of living in the clouds, and I think he’s right
I started out reading historical romance and I still love those as well. My mom used to always have a thick novel lying around with a beautiful, windswept hero/heroine on the cover. Who doesn’t love a man in a kilt, a pirate, a Native American or a man who speaks with a British accent? The pages and cover were usually worn out from being passed around between friends. Sometimes scotch tape held those books together. How far we’ve come with the digital age of reading tablets. I admit I love my tablet, but still prefer the smell of a new book!
My typical plans for the day are to write, but I usually get side-tracked with something else. Funny how that happens. Inspiration for new books hasn’t yet been a problem. In fact, I don’t have enough time to write what want. I don’t use outlines preferring to let a story develop as I write. I do have a journal to keep all my ideas for new books in and hope the day comes when I can go on a crazy, romance-writing marathon. Wishful thinking on my part! LOL
I love to work in my yard in the spring and summer, Christmas is my most-loved holiday, and my husband is my best friend. My kids are my ultimate accomplishment. The mountains are my all-time, favorite place to be and I’m working hard to view a sea of trees from my windows every day.
I’ve always been a closet writer! Poems, songs, novelettes, novellas and novels are all on my resume. Writing seems to be the easiest way to express how I feel and that includes any emotion. I can build worlds I control then get lost in them. Humor plays a big role in my writing probably because my husband and I both have such a wicked sense of humor. I like independent, sassy females and confident, attractive men for characters. Romance is just the icing on the cake! Who doesn’t want to fall in love over and over with a happily-ever-after ending every, single time?
